‘Hello, AAA? I Can’t Get Windows to Reboot’

This spring, Ford will release a fully functional dashboard computer, complete with a keyboard. This device is geared towards contractors and other business folks who want to access the Internet and review documents while on the go. The computer will run Windows CE and provide high-speed Internet access via the Sprint Mobile Broadband Network and includes navigation by Garmin.

According to Ford, “this system allows customers to print invoices, check inventories and access documents stored on their home or office computer networks — right on the job site.” Look at those last five words again. They imply that car will be sitting still –- in “Park.” After all, who would be so silly as to try and run the computer while driving the car on the highway?
