Waiting to find my way with AwayFind
Posted on July 16th, 2008I am eagerly awaiting my turn in the beta program for AwayFind. If you have not already signed up, then stop reading my blog and go signup to get on the waiting list!
Their example for email management on vacation is awesome. I’ve done this myself in a complicated way before by telling my staff to email anything critical to my home email which I would check while on vacation. Thus I would not have to check my work email – cause once you check your mail looking for important things you risk getting distracted and getting caught up in work while on vacation. This approach required me to alert folks ahead of time and it required folks to remember to use a different email address for critical messages. It worked, but it was not a natural work flow like AwayFind is trying to create.
AwayFind is developing tools to help you manage your email and be more productive. Their web site talks about the technology – but it really talks about how you will be able to use AwayFind.
- When you get too much email
- When you work from the road
- When you take a vacation
It’s not a technology in search of a problem – the problem is clear and AwayFind will be offering solutions. I am eagerly awaiting my turn to try this out! I also hope they have some patents pending cause I can’t believe others won’t try and follow this path.
